Museum Crowds

While visiting the Victoria and Albert museum over the New Year holiday I couldn’t help but notice the wonderful ambience produced by the small groups of people moving through the grand, marble rooms. I grabbed my stealth rig – a pair of DPA 4060s and a Sound Devices Mixpre 6 – and returned early the next day.

A number of the major museums in London are located within the same block and are free / donation – my initial plan to capture a few spaces turned into a two day run and gun effort over five museums – the National Gallery, the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Science museum, the National History museum, and the Tate Modern.

The end result is a collection of 24 crowd walla recordings totaling 98 minutes.
